Reetha trees begin producing fruit after 5–7 years but are long-lived trees with increasingly abundant harvests for decades once mature.
Remove the hard outer shell carefully, soak the inner seed in water for 24–48 hours, then plant 2–3 cm deep in moist, rich soil. Keep warm (25–35°C). Germination takes 20–30 days.
Reetha grows well across North and Central India — Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, UP, Bihar, and Maharashtra. It prefers deep, well-drained soil and moderate rainfall.
